Spearheaded by Mrs. Glenda Lara-Elem, school head, the Drop-Out Reduction Program (DORP) Team initiates home visitations to those students who are at risk of dropping out.

The DORP Team is composed of Mrs. Marcelina B. Mancao (School Guidance), Mr. Reynaldo G. Eduyan (School Disciplinarian), Mrs. Virgie A. Sobel (DORP/ALS Coordinator), Mr. Rogelio B. Lasconia Jr. (ICT Coordinator), Mr. Absalon Alicer (PTA President) and Mrs. Glenda Lara-Elem (Chairperson of DORP Team).

There are five identified students who are at risk. These students drop their studies to earn living, running SK elections and lack of interest.

Upon the visitation, the parents are being interviewed based on the reasons of not attending classes of their child. The parents assure the DORP Team that they send back their sons and daughters to school as early as possible.

Parents who are visited are being given with grocery items as early christmas gift to their family.

The DORP Team assess their visitation has great impact to the students, parents and community upon extending ones hand on the importance of education for today’s life.

The next home visitation is expected in the areas of Congan and Datalbukay. One of the reasons for not attending classes is due to heavy rains and recurring flood. Most of the students cannot cross the river eventhough the rain is not in their vicinity but it rains from upper most part in the mountain part of Barangay E. Alegado.

The DORP Team of San Vicente National High School is optimistic that the home visitation can be replicated to those schools which face synonymous problem.
